Manufacturer and supplier directory
A directory is only worth reading if the records in it are true. This one publishes nothing it has not checked.

- Methodology published. Record collection in progress.
- Records invented to fill space
- 0 — and this will not change
Why zero
The brief this platform is built from is explicit: never create manufacturer profiles with invented information, and never imply a higher verification level than the evidence supports. Those two rules together mean a directory cannot be launched full. It can only be launched honest. What follows is the method the records will be collected against — published now, so that the first record can be checked against a standard that already exists in public.Verification levels
Every record states exactly one. A record never claims more than its evidence supports.
| Level | What it means |
|---|---|
| Level 0 — Unverified | A third party has claimed this capability. Nothing has been checked. Not published as a record. |
| Level 1 — Public-source verified | Basic details confirmed against public sources — company registry, official website, published export records. |
| Level 2 — Company-confirmed | The company itself confirmed the listed capabilities, MOQ and markets. |
| Level 3 — Evidence-backed | Capabilities supported by documents: certificates, test reports, audit summaries, shipping records. |
| Level 4 — Independently verified | Confirmed by independent inspection or a third-party audit, with the inspecting party named. |
What gets recorded
The record schema. Fields are mandatory unless marked otherwise.
| Field | What it captures |
|---|---|
| Company | Legal or trading name, as used commercially. |
| Location | Country and city. Sourcing happens in cities, so city is not optional. |
| Facility type | Manufacturer, supplier, mill, service provider or trading company. |
| Product categories | What they actually make, at category level rather than "garments". |
| Materials and processes | Fibres handled, and the specific processes performed in-house. |
| Capabilities | What the facility can do — cutting, sewing, washing, finishing, printing, embroidery, testing. |
| Machinery | Recorded only where verified. Not accepted from marketing material alone. |
| MOQ | Stated as given, with the unit and the basis (per style, per colour, per order). |
| Capacity | Recorded only where verified. A capacity claim without evidence is a sales claim. |
| Certifications | Named and dated, with the issuing body where available. |
| Export markets | Where they have actually shipped, distinguished from where they would like to ship. |
| Verification level | One of the five levels above, stated on the record itself. |
| Evidence | The sources behind the record, listed and linkable. |
| Last verified | The date the record was last checked, not the date it was created. |
| Limitations | What the record does not establish. |
What a record will never claim
The limits of this directory, stated before it has any records in it.
Limitations
- That a listed facility is the right supplier for you. A record describes capability, not fit.
- That quality is consistent over time. Verification is a snapshot, dated and labelled as one.
- That a compliance certificate is currently valid unless the validity period has been checked and recorded.
- That a facility will honour a quoted price or lead time. Commercial terms are between buyer and supplier.
- That the set of records is complete. It will never be complete, and presenting it as such would be misleading.
How records are collected
- Identification. Candidate facilities are identified from trade records, industry associations, buyer referrals and direct enquiry.
- Public-source check. Registration, address, stated scope and export activity are verified against primary public sources. This establishes Level 1.
- Direct confirmation. Where a facility engages, capabilities, MOQ, capacity and markets are confirmed with them in writing. This establishes Level 2.
- Evidence review. Certificates, test reports and records are reviewed and dated. This establishes Level 3.
- Independent verification. Where warranted, a third party inspects and is named on the record. This establishes Level 4.
- Publication and review. The record publishes with its level, evidence and limitations, and is re-checked periodically. Levels are revisited, not assumed to hold.
